About the Band
Kenneth Gammell (Synthesizers / Vocals)
Kenneth has always had music in his life. A classically trained pianist, Ken began writing songs at an early age, some of which we have adapted for your pleasure by Caribou Gone. Kenneth is a prolific writer and producer, his producing and engineering skills provide most of the unique sound to Caribou Gone. Kenneth began experimenting with electronic music in the 1980s, playing in several bands in the Twin Cities, and contributing to other bands behind the scenes. His haunting yet beautiful keyboard arrangements for Caribou Gone feature favorite vintage 80s synth sounds and unique ethnic instrument samples. His songwriting juxtaposes rich and complex arrangements with brutally honest lyrics.
Margaret Lloyd (Lead Vocals)
Margaret has always been a singer, singing with songs on the radio at an early age onto a career as a classically trained operatic singer. She worked with renowned opera companies around the world. After taking a break from music Margaret joined Ken, Brian, and Gerhard in a 80s cover band where she adopted her rather extensive vocal skills to a pop and rock sound. Her unique background takes Caribou Gone’s vocal arrangements to another level. Margaret’s smile and joy is infectious and essential to Caribou Gone’s emotional vibrations.
Gerhard Vogel (Guitars)
Gerhard (pronounced like “Gary Hard” without the ‘Y’) uses a spirit of inclusive audience outreach and a healthy dose of humor. The spiritual connection between audience and performer is all-important to him, and many years of playing in live music bands has given him the training necessary to keep everyone’s synapses plugged-in to the “cosmic give and take” of playing or hearing a great pop song– ensuring a good time for everyone. “I like to bring to the audience the visceral joy and electrical rush of electric guitar— surfing the waves of energy and beats supporting great songs that grab your heart,” says Gerhard Vogel, guitarist and vocalist for Caribou Gone. “Engaging the listener in the world of Caribou Gone is a hands-on experience like no other.”
Frank Majsterski (Drums)
Frank is a trained percussionist with the ability to play driving jazz all the way to heavy metal power drums. He has been the member of many projects over the years and is an accomplished “hired gun” for many local and national acts. Frank plays with a sense of timing and rhythm that drives the music and the bodies of anyone watching his exceptional performances. As the pounding heart of Caribou Gone, there is a dynamic and intelligent writing to Frank’s arrangements will leave you in awe.
Brian White (Bass/Vocals)
If Frank is the heartbeat of Caribou Gone, Brian is the blood, his bass flowing and pulsing through the music. Having been a part of several bands in the late 80’s and early 90’s, Brian enjoys engaging with audiences on stage. Brian was part of an 80s cover band that included most of the other members of Caribou Gone. His vocal talents and stage presence amazed audiences by accurately recreating vocals ranging from Ric Ocasek to Steve Perry. For Caribou Gone, Brian shares lead vocal duties with Margaret Lloyd, bringing a powerful vocal force to the band.
